Comedy Sketches for Charity
Hi, I'm Stephen Kogon. I've teamed up with my friend Jim O'Heir to raise awareness and funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. Just by watching our comedy sketch you have helped raise money that will fund cutting edge research and support services for the more than 50,000 people in the United States and 1 million people worldwide affected by tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Thank you for watching the video!
Be sure to check out my interview with Jim where he talks about the disease and why he is dedicated to raising awareness of TSC. You can also subscribe to the YouTube channel so you don't miss any future Comedy Sketches for Charity.
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. The aspects of TSC that most strongly impact quality of life are generally associated with the brain: seizures, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism. Approximately 85 percent of individuals experience seizures during their lifetime, and about one-third of these manifest, as infantile spasms, a devastating form of epilepsy occurring in early childhood. Autism occurs in approximately 50 percent of individuals with TSC, and other behavioral and psychiatric symptoms—such as aggression and anxiety—are common.
All donations to the TS Alliance move us a closer to cutting edge treatments and ultimately a cure for those affected. To learn more about TSC visit www.tsallliance.org.
