The Step Forward to Cure TSC Chicago Walk walk brings together individuals and families impacted by a rare genetic disorder called tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) with supporters committed to making a difference. TSC causes tumors to form in vital organs and is also the leading genetic cause of both epilepsy and autism and current estimates place tuberous sclerosis complex affected births at one in 6,000. Nearly 1 million people worldwide are estimated to have TSC, with approximately 50,000 in the United States.
Step Forward to Cure TSC is presented by the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, the leading organization dedicated to finding a cure for TSC, while improving the lives of those affected through: 1) the stimulation and sponsorship of research; 2) the development of programs, support services, and resource information; and 3) the development and implementation of public and professional educational programs designed to heighten awareness of TSC.
Form a team today…Be a Super Hero Tomorrow. With your help, we can be heroes to the 50,000 Americans with TSC and their loved ones. By forming a team or walking as an individual, you and your team members will make a direct impact on the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance’s efforts to raise significant funds for TSC research and to help us offer a wide range of support programs.
This year’s walk continues to salute our TSC Super Heroes across the country. Individuals, families, friends and supporters are all encouraged to participate dressed like their favorite hero. We urge you to become a Super Hero of the TS Alliance. Sign up early, recruit friends and be a part of this fabulous Step Forward to Cure TSC event.
